Our students and staff have been working so hard for months to bring this musical to life—and now it’s showtime! From learning lines and songs to building sets and practicing choreography, so much heart and dedication has gone into every single detail. Tonight is the night!! Game Night is officially here at CRES. From 5-6:30pm we are going to be playing some fun literacy or math games. Lucky little learners at work! 🍀 Our PreK friends had a magical St. Paddy’s Day full of hands-on fun! They planted shamrocks and built clever leprechaun traps—just in case one tried to sneak through their classrooms! Dairy Queen is a GSCS district-wide partner. Tomorrow, March 19 is their national event "Free Cone Day". Simply go to your nearest DQ and ask for a free cone (with your meal or by itself). Thanks for supporting our students Griffin DQ.

The Griffin RESA Elementary Math Competition was held Wednesday, March 11, 2026. The following schools represented GSCS: Crescent Elementary, Futral Road Elementary, Cowan Road Elementary, and Orrs Elementary. We are so proud of all our amazing mathematicians. Congratulations to Orrs Elementary School's math team for taking 3rd place in Division 1 which was made up of 8 schools. The Orrs' team was composed of Kenneth Hester, Camden Lewis, Luis Madrigal, Arden Snead, and Paul Wilson. Thank you to their coach, Mr. Tramell Kinne.

Due to potential inclement weather, GSCS will delay the start of school by two hours for staff and students tomorrow. Everything is pushed back two hours from the normal scheduled time. Please continue to check the GSCS app, social media and/or website for updates.

Mr. Hawkins was the celebrity guest spelling test administrator in Ms. Stratton’s Kindergarten class. Students focused and did a great job of showing him their best work.

Our Reading Bowl team had an incredible day at TomeCon in Athens on the campus of the University of Georgia!

Students spent the day surrounded by books and authors — attending workshops and talks led by authors, creating book-themed crafts, and listening to the keynote speaker, Gordon Korman (yes, that Gordon Korman!). They also enjoyed an author Q&A panel and had the chance to meet several authors and get their books autographed.

It was a full day of celebrating reading, creativity, and the joy of great stories. We are so proud of our readers for representing our school so well!
