Students spent the day surrounded by books and authors — attending workshops and talks led by authors, creating book-themed crafts, and listening to the keynote speaker, Gordon Korman (yes, that Gordon Korman!). They also enjoyed an author Q&A panel and had the chance to meet several authors and get their books autographed.
It was a full day of celebrating reading, creativity, and the joy of great stories. We are so proud of our readers for representing our school so well!

District leaders and community stakeholders visited classrooms across the building to read with ALL of our students and share their love of books. It was a great opportunity for students to see strong role models demonstrating just how important reading is.
A big thank you to these wonderful gentlemen for taking time out of their day to invest in our students and encourage a love of reading! Thanks to Connor Westbury Funeral Home, Carver Road Baptist Church, Spalding Co Parks/Rec, Mentorship, Brightmoor Hospice, and GSCS for serving in our school for this event. #WalkTheWalk #ReadersAreLeaders
