Mark your calendars! GSCS Open House for the 2024-25 school year will be on Tuesday, July 30, for ELEMENTARY families and Wednesday, July 31, for MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL families. The first day of school for students will be Monday, August 5.
GSCS is seeking two dedicated and compassionate school nurses for the 2024-25 school year at two schools. The ideal candidate will be an RN or LPN willing to provide professional nursing care to students and staff, promoting a healthy school environment conducive to learning. You may have seen the ribbons many of our students won at Field Day events this year. Please express your thanks to United Bank for funding the purchase of those ribbons this year. Our kids were super excited to receive them for their Field Day achievements.
Also assisting with our successful field days were volunteers from Carver Road Baptist.
These men and women helped oversee event stations, provided extra hands and eyes, and kept everything running smoothly. They are always so faithful in helping us with extra workers for our events!

Online Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is now open but registrations will not be processed until July 10. Register online at https://www.gscs.org/o/gscss/page/central-registration. In person registration will begin on July 10 at the Central Registration Building located at 234 E. Taylor St. The last day to register with ALL documents submitted to ensure your student is enrolled by Open House is July 23. Open House is on July 30 for elementary and July 31 for middle and high.

Mrs. Baker had the Star Lab in the media center and ALL of 2nd and 3rd grade classes were able to come experience this. One PreK and one K class also joined in the fun. Pictures inside the star lab are hard because it is SO DARK. In the very first pic, look closely and you can see the outlines of some student heads at the bottom. :-)

First grade took a field trip to the trails at Tyus Park the last week of school. The trails cover nearly 3 miles! Of course, they took time to play on the playground, too!
